Simina Popescu (they/them) is an author, illustrator and cartoonist from (and momentarily based in) Bucharest, Romania.

After graduating with a degree in Graphic Communication Design from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, they became firmly convinced graphic design is not their passion, and proceeded to focus on their illustration practice.

 

They are passionate about LGBTQIA+ representation in contemporary media and have collaborated with a number of NGOs championing LGBTQIA+ rights and visibility; and they're always interested in stories about intimacy and intense emotion. They live with a moody cat, Fredi, and are currently working on their debut graphic novel, Leap, scheduled for publishing in 2024 under Roaring Brook, an imprint of Macmillan USA.
